BAH calculator guidance
Basic Allowance for Housing depends on pay grade, dependency status, and duty location (Military Housing Area / ZIP). We do not scrape or republish the full BAH rate database.
How BAH is determined
- Your duty ZIP maps to a Military Housing Area (MHA).
- Grade and with/without-dependents status select the rate cell.
- Partial BAH and other special cases follow separate DFAS rules.
Use the official lookup
Enter your ZIP (or MHA), pay grade, and dependency status on the Defense Travel Management Office site for the current-year rate.
Background: DTMO Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). Tip: use the ZIP of your permanent duty station, not a temporary lodging address, unless your orders say otherwise.
What we do not show
Exact BAH dollars for every ZIP are not listed here. Any third-party “BAH calculator” without a live official feed can be stale. Prefer DTMO / myPay for amounts that affect your LES.
